What is a TMD?

Have you noticed that most financial products refer to a TMD?

To help you better understand this important document, Michael Rice, our Finance Manager, explains what a TMD is and how it can benefit you.

A Target Market Determination (TMD) is a document that explains which people particular financial products may be suitable for (the target market) and sets out any conditions around how financial products can be distributed to consumers. TMDs are compulsory for most financial products sold in Australia.

The TMD includes information such as:

• Our target market’s key attributes include their likely objectives, financial situation, and needs.

• The class of consumers for whom our financial products are not appropriate.

• How and where our financial products are sold.

• What triggers a TMD review.

Most financial products now require a TMD in addition to any other documents already provided, such as Product Disclosure Statements (PDS) or a Prospectus.

Adroit Insurance & Risk Charity Golf Day

On Friday, March 1, W&D Finance ‘putt’ its best foot forward as a major sponsor of the Adroit Insurance & Risk Charity Golf Day held at the Midlands Golf Club.

We entered two teams (we do love golf) to help raise funds for the Ballarat Health Services Foundation, the Special Care Nursery, and the Paediatrics Teams at Grampians Health Ballarat.

The money will be used to purchase two ultrasound-guided cannulation devices. These devices guide the tip of a needle during cannulation to ensure safe, quick and accurate vascular access. This significantly reduces trauma in patients, particularly those with veins that are hard to access or, in the case of young children, when their veins are very small.

Ballarat Highlands Bowls Region Champions

Congratulations to Victoria Bowling Club on winning its second consecutive Division 1 title. The club beat Sebastopol in the final on Sunday, March 10.

W&D Finance has long sponsored the bowling club, and one of our Directors, Bob Whitcher, is a life member.
